what are we doing?

Welcome to Phase 2 of our new FNI membership Programme.

Here’s how it works. You pick a first, second, third and forth preference of Mentor. Then based on availability of Mentor, FNI will do our best to match you with your ideal mentor to chat for two video calls.

To make this possible, we’re introducing a membership option on BuyMeACoffee.com/Fni

For just 5 euros a month or 50 euros annually, you can pick the brain of two of our fantastic Fni team members about their professional experiences and ask for informative feedback informally over a 40 mins online prearranged video call.

How cool is that? We know right?

Skills relatable and available to you in this brand new mentor initiative are Direction, Acting, Voiceover, Creative Animation production, VFX production, Project management, Documentary, Writing for TV, Entrepreneurship, Pitching for TV, Animation. Networking, Sound production and much more.

We will also be adding other perks and film and TV professional across various departments and disciplines to choose from for your attention on a rolling basis, so sign up now to avail of this unique service.

Wow!

Where have the last 12 months gone? What an enormously trying and emotionally charged period in all our lives. We’ve literally been involved in the most incredible and unusual game of snakes and ladders over the last year. From everyone here at FNI, we do hope you’re well mentally, physically and emotionally and taking good care of yourselves and each other.

At FNI we’re so incredibly grateful for the sense of community spirit and dedication of everyone involved in FNI this year. You really are incredible!

We’ve been so lucky to have been able to continue our weekly podcast FNI Wrap Chat on the Headstuff Podcast Network, bringing you the most insightful and no nonsense content from the heart of the Irish Film and TV community. And with over 130 episodes, we’re just getting warmed up.

Our team have worked super hard, often quite late, to bring regular content during this unusual period. We are greatly appreciative for the opportunity to stay active and for your engagement. So thank you for listening.

Your positive feedback has truly been a massive source of motivation for our team.

We also welcomed new podcast hosts Seán T. Ó Meallaigh, Mia Mullarkey, and Remie Michelle Clarke, bringing a range of great personal experience and personality to work alongside the two Pauls (Webster and Butler Lennox) to create a more complex and unique listening experience.

We’ve had wonderful support in this endeavour over the last four years from Wildcard Distribution, Film Equipment Store and Octovid.com.

We also welcome Ray Mongey and Stephen Fagan to the panel for special business episodes of the Show Build, interviewing technology and business professionals in Ireland and abroad. So it’s all go in the Podcast Studios and remotely!

We’d like to thank The Podcast Studios who work with us very closely on Wrap Chat on Headstuff+ to produce the show with the audio production wizardry of Stephen Bedford and Saiprasad Raman. We’re also delighted to welcome Keavy O’Sullivan to the 2021 FNI core team in the role of Administrator.

Film Network Ireland also worked closely with Screen Skills Ireland on their national initiative project, Stakeholders Fund, adding this to our regular connect series of upskill content for our online audience.

We’ve had lots of incredible stories, lessons (both professional and in life), and stunning ideas and advice from some of our most dedicated educators, professional hod’s, and media personalities in Ireland over the last year.

This included Academy Award nominated Director Lenny Abrahamson, Frank Berry, Glenn Leyburn, Lisa Barros D’Sa, Declan Lowney, Alex Fegan, Ger Walsh, Stephen Fagan, Nick Dunning, Helena Walsh, Mary Kate O’Flanagan, Ip Wishin, Steve Fanagan, Stephen Cleary, Colin McKeown, Cian McGarrigle and George Kane, and we’re also lucky to have worked closely with the team at The Cork International Film Festival on our online event series, speaking with Carmel Winters, Trevor Birney, and Brendan J. Byrne. We also worked on a special series with the Still Voices Film Festival.

It’s been an overwhelmingly positive experience, not only over the last 12 months, but all 10 years of FNI in action. Our online events have yielded many thousands of attendees. All for FREE.
